The Apprenticeship event of the year

Join us for the 10th and pivotal Annual Apprenticeship Conference (AAC), a crucial event for apprentice employers and providers. As the premier apprenticeship conference, AAC 2024 arrives at a critical juncture – it’s the last one before the General Election amid pressing economic challenges, reforms to the Levy, and skill shortages. This year’s conference is an essential platform for navigating these complexities and shaping the future of apprenticeships.

Set against a backdrop of economic turbulence and significant electoral stakes, AAC 2024 offers a vital forum for discussions on policy, funding, and the evolving landscape of apprenticeships. It’s a timely convergence for stakeholders in Further and Higher Education, Local Authorities, Education Suppliers, and Apprenticeship Employers, offering insights and strategies to effectively design and deliver apprenticeships in these transformative times.

Plenary Sessions
At the AAC conference, spread across two days, delegates will access four enriching 90-minute plenary sessions. These sessions are a cornerstone of the conference, uniting AAC attendees for in-depth talks and engaging discussions on pivotal topics.

Participants will have the unique opportunity to hear directly from government ministers and leading civil servants. These key figures will utilise the conference platform to deliver crucial updates and insights, ensuring attendees are well-informed on the latest developments. Additionally, these sessions will feature prominent voices from the apprenticeship sector, contributing to dynamic and thought-provoking debates.

The content of the plenary sessions is meticulously curated, encompassing a broad spectrum of relevant themes. Key areas of focus will include the quality of apprenticeships, funding mechanisms, the role of technology, assessment strategies, policy considerations, and development trends within the apprenticeship landscape. Detailed information regarding the specific topics, as well as the distinguished speakers, will be made available starting from December 2023, offering delegates ample time to prepare for a comprehensive and enlightening experience at the conference.

Workshops
The AAC conference offers an extensive range of workshops designed to furnish delegates with crucial updates and innovative ideas. Across the span of two days, participants can choose from an impressive array of 60 different workshops, each lasting 50 minutes. This diverse selection ensures that there is something valuable for everyone, regardless of their specific interests or needs within the apprenticeship sector.

These workshops are the result of collaborative efforts with leading organisations and key figures actively involved in apprenticeships. A variety of presenters, including government departments and agencies, colleges, training providers, and employers, will deliver these sessions. Their expertise and insights are invaluable for attendees seeking practical knowledge and new perspectives.

Details about the workshop offerings will be made available starting from December 2023, allowing delegates to plan their conference experience effectively. For those interested in contributing to the conference as a workshop provider, we welcome inquiries and proposals, inviting engagement and participation from across the apprenticeship community.

What previous attendees say about AAC

Joanne Gogerly Head of Professional Education, Siemens

The AAC has become a highlight in our calendar. A perfect balance of workshops, networking opportunities with suppliers, customers and partners, as well as thought provoking presentations and discussions with industry experts.

Jules Rhodes Shrewsbury Colleges Group

The workshops I attended were inspirational and key note speakers and guest speakers were extremely knowledgable, answering questions and sharing fantastic ideas. There was a huge feeling of collaboration and sharing best practice, what works and what hasn’t!

Lisette MacCormac Director of Quality & Performance, The JGA Group

I have attended the AAC every year since its inaugural conference in London. This is because I value the breadth of learning courtesy of some fantastic workshops and the hugely beneficial opportunity to network with and learn from likeminded people from the sector, for the sector.

Danielle Judge Assistant Principal: Apprenticeships - Trafford College Group

The AAC is a fantastic opportunity to network with like minded people, who share a common passion for apprenticeships and their success. The Plenary sessions are very informative, but also provide challenge to some of the key speakers on the issues pertinent to Apprenticeships success. The breakout sessions provide focused information and support on key topics and provided a fantastic opportunity to speak with other training providers and FE colleges to help foster working relationships beyond the conference. The exhibition space had a real buzz about it with an opportunity to explore lots of software, EPAO and other solutions all in one place. Highly recommend and will be booking my tickets for next year when they come out!

AAC 2023 Delegate

The AAC is ‘the’ event to attend, it gives delegates the opportunity to hear from and speak to people and organisations making a real difference in the sector. I always come away feeling inspired and motivated by people passionate about the success of apprenticeships

AAC 2023 Delegate

The AAC is without a doubt the flagship apprenticeship event of the year. Location, delegates, guests, speakers, exhibitors, food, topics, competitions. It has it all!
