Assistant Director, Learning and Work Institute

Dr Fiona Aldridge is an Assistant Director at Learning and Work Institute, providing leadership across the breadth of its research and development programmes, with a particular focus on learning for work and careers. Fiona leads L&Ws programme of work around apprenticeships, which has a particular focus on improving quality and access – particularly in relation to ethnicity, disability and gender.

Fiona joined NIACE in 1997 and progressed through a range of research roles to become Head of Research in 2003. In 2012, she was appointed Head of Learning for Work, where she successfully established a programme of research, development and policy activity designed to improve the range and quality of learning that equips adults to gain, sustain and progress in employment. Fiona took on her current role of Assistant Director in 2014.
